Nikkei Koi Utsuri Gallery
'Utsuri' is the noun form of the Japanese verb 'Utsuru' which means to spread (like ink leaking from a pen over a wet paper towel). What is being spread here is the sumi or black pattern over a koi with a solid colored base that is usually white, red/orange, or yellow.
In this section we feature the koi varieties that fall into this category. These include shiro (white) utsuri, hi (red/orange) utsuri, and ki (yellow) utsuri.
