Nikkei Koi Tategoi Gallery

As common verbage in the koi world 'tategoi' is seemingly the term to use when describing a breeders' "best". Where in fact there is truth to this literally translated 'tategoi' is broken down to 'tateru' and 'koi' which means a koi that rises, stands above, or has potential for future greatness. As breeders' do refer to their best as tategoi we can still only make educated predictions based on past experiences with certain bloodlines to predict future development. ALL of the koi in this section were selected for specific reasons; each possesses special qualities that elevate them to the next level. Through proper nuturing we have great hopes that these elite koi will arise to reach their highest potential.

In this section we feature TRUE top class tategoi that have full potential to become prominant competitors at future koi shows.

We guarantee ALL koi on this page to be female

Momotaro Tategoi

When purchasing tosai from a selection of a breeder's best there are three major factors to consider especially if they are to be groomed for future koi shows. First, what bloodline does the breeder use. Second, is the pond water of highest quality. Third, does the diet consist of the highest quality ingredients? We purchased this sanke as guaranteed female jumbo tosai at the March 27, 2008 auction held at Momotaro Koi Farm. This sanke comes from the bloodline of Ryu one of Momotaro's highest prized lineages. This sanke was born July 26, 2007. The female parent measured in at 88cm
